In the past two years a wide range of publications have published articles on what Martin Fowler calls the New Methodologies. There has been a rising interest in these new software development approaches, such as Extreme Programming and Adaptive Software Development, and scores of organizations have developed their own "lighter" approach to building software. Recently, representatives from these new Agile Methodologies and others met to establish an Agile Alliance and to develop a common purpose and principles to help other software professionals think about software development, methodologies, and organizations, in new, more agile ways. This seminar will discuss the idea of Agile Methods and show organizations how to build organizational capabilities for innovation, rapid delivery, and adaptability.
