Craig Larman is the author of Applying UML and Patterns--An Introduction
to Object-oriented Analysis and Design (Prentice Hall, 1998), the
world’s best-selling text on object-oriented analysis and design
and the UML, in five languages. He also co-authored Java 2 Performance
and Idiom Guide (Prentice Hall, 1999) and writes the “Modeling
and Java” column in Java Report. Craig is a popular conference
speaker, and conference board member, at events such as OOPSLA, Software
Development, and UML World.
Craig serves as Director, Process and Methodology, at Valtech, an
international consulting group with divisions throughout Europe and
the USA. In this role, his recent focus has been helping organizations
in the adoption of iterative lifecycle processes such as the Unified
Process. Craig holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer science, with research
emphasis in artificial intelligence, object-oriented knowledge representation
and case-based reasoning.
